Avril Lavigne has grown tired of her hard-partying ways, and now an insider says she is even craving the stability of the marriage she recently ended. That could explain why she was with ex-husband Deryck Whibley at the Alice in Wonderland premiere in London on February 25. "They're just friends," says her rep, but according to a pal, Avril and Deryck are secretly trying to figure out their future. "Deryck never wanted to get a divorce and he would take Avril back in a second," the pal explains. "She was the one who got bored with being married. But now she misses Deryck." Although they're just good friends for the time being, the pal says, "She hasn't ruled out a future reconciliation." The two were spotted in a limo heading to an after-party together.

"They had remained good friends, and now they're kind of friends with benefits," says a source. "Everyone's hoping they'll work things out-eventually, but there are still issues." Avril's love of the nightclub, in particular, remains a major problem for Deryck, 29, the source adds. "She'll have to grow up a bit before they could have a real commitment again." "Avril and Deryck care about each other, but they're hot and cold right now," a source says of the pair, who lived it up together in London.

You saying that Deryck is almost 30 is what I always thought was the biggest problem in Avril & Deryck relationship. Deryck is at an age where hes turning 30 and wants to have kids and Avril is at an age were she just want to have fun all the time. Witch is reasonable. look at Deryck he still plays around but then he has his age hanging over his head.

I don't really agree with what you said....... I mean, I agree with the fact that Avril just wants to have fun, it pretty clear and we all saw it.
The age thing: between them there are just 4 years of difference. We're not talking about 10 years but just 4. I don't think the age was the problem between them at all, but more (like you said) because they wanted different things. They surely had/have different goals and priorities and that's why the marriage didn't work (in my opinion).
Deryck is almost 30, yes. So?? Thank God he still plays around. 30 doesn't mean that you're old and you can't do these things anymore. And he has good balance, is not like he plays around all the time. He serious with his job and his career and then he has fun with his friends. I don't see how being 30 means not having fun.

I know Deryck still has fun but me knowing a lot of people in their 30's. They start thinking about a family and when they are going to have one. Its out there in the world that you should have a family some time in your 30s. Four years many not seem like a big age differences yet the ways a 25 year old acts and a 30 year person acts is comply different. Avril has had so much power for a long time and she said that some times she feels like she 30 but right now I feel like she just trying to act the age that she is and at the same time I feel like she throwing away a lot of thing because of this.

It seems to me the Whibleys took each other for granted and are both paying for it, I agree with Katrina when it comes to settling down, the 30's is the ideal decade to do it. I bet you anything Avril'd have kids by now if she was married to someone more grounded and serious like Cone.

I think Deryck and Avril are very much alike, that's why they're a perfect match in my humble opinion; they like to party, had Avril been with a guy more grounded and serious than Deryck, things would be different, i truly beleive they can still have their happy ending.

Regarding all these encouraging articles about these two canuk getting back together, I also love reading them.
